Give your skin a boost in a natural way with connective tissue massage. During a manual connective tissue massage at De Huidkliniek, the therapists will only stimulate the deeper skin layer in order to strengthen it. Your skin will be lifted and your complexion will be radiant.

You are always welcome for a consultation without any obligation. A skin therapist will discuss with you whether a connective tissue massage is suitable for you. You can reach us at: 088 224 03 00.

    What is connective tissue?

Connective tissue is the layer that fills the spaces between the muscles and the skin. It is a soft and elastic tissue that contains a wide range of cells, fibres, basic substances (including hyaluronic acid) and water. This group of tissues in the body maintain the form of the body and its organs and provide cohesion. In addition to keeping your body firm, connective tissue protects organs and encapsulates nerves, blood vessels and lymphatic pathways. It is worth taking care of!

    Why a connective tissue massage?

Connective tissue massage was invented in 1929 by Elisabeth Dicke, a German physiotherapist. Connective tissue massage targets the layer of connective tissue between the skin and muscles. Therefore it not only improves the skin condition, but also increases the blood circulation and activates metabolism, thus reducing inflammation and adhesions. Connective tissue massage is therefore a good treatment for fine lines, cellulite or dullness of your skin, provided it is performed properly. The skin therapists apply special deep massage techniques that act on the connective tissue.

Connective tissue massage has the following effects, among others:

    • Improvement of the skin condition
    • Stimulation of blood circulation
    • Reduction of stress by eliminating subcutaneous adhesions
    • Improved absorption of active substances
    • Promoting cell division
    • Strengthening and renewing of connective tissue
    • Improvement of the skin structure and skin tone
    • Reduction of wrinkles, crow’s feet and cellulite

    What result can i expect?

The connective tissue treatment lifts the skin and gives it a radiant complexion. Fine lines become less visible and the blood circulation in the skin is stimulated, resulting in a natural ‘glow’.

We recommend undergoing a connective tissue massage three weeks prior to facelift surgery. The massage will stimulate the blood circulation in the skin, thus improving the skin metabolism. This reduces the risk of complications and the skin will recover more quickly.

    Natural Glow Treatment

Connective tissue massage face and legs

A connective tissue massage can be given to different parts of your body, such as your face, neck, décolleté and legs. A facial connective tissue massage can provide a considerable boost. The treatment improves blood circulation, the production of collagen and the removal of lymphatic fluid. This can improve skin quality and reduce wrinkles and fine lines. After the treatment, your skin is able to better absorb nutrients from skincare creams.

A connective tissue massage of the legs can loosen and soften tissue fibres that are stuck together under the skin, reduce light inflammation and stimulate the removal of waste products. This can lead to cellulite reduction and fight tired legs. We only apply the connective tissue massage to the face.

    Connective tissue massage: the treatment

Skin therapists at De Huidkliniek are specialized in carrying out connective tissue massages. Connective tissue massage is a powerful massage of the subcutaneous connective tissue, used to improve the skin condition. Massaging the subcutaneous connective tissue stimulates the cell division. As a result, collagen and elastin fibres are produced and the cells of connective tissue are stimulated to renew. During a treatment, the therapists apply deep massage techniques, rolling and picking up the skin to reach and stimulate the connective tissue with the aim of enhancing blood circulation. In the video below you can see how connective tissue massage with the Natural Glow Treatment works.

    Connective tissue massage experience

“I would rather not have a laser on my face, so I consciously choose a connective tissue massage. I like the feeling during the treatment, I have the idea that something is really happening to my skin. Immediately after the treatment my skin is radiant.
